Cigarette smoke and tears
Linger on her jacket.
She laughs and smiles
Through her fears
Though she knows she might lose it.
The hospital lights are sickly
And the heart monitor is loud
That you don’t answer her prayers
Leave’s her with hope unfound.
Its just a stage, the say
You’ll come out of it, I’m sure.
But she, who sits and stays
Isn’t pulled into that false lure.
“Star light, star bright,” she whispers
“Grant this wish I wish tonight.”
“Free my sister.”
And out goes the light.
