At a church service the other day the speaker made a pretty bold statement of Christians. He stated that the proof necessary for anyone to say that there is no God is to point to a Christian without Christ in them.
Mahatma Gandhi once said, "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
I myself have been guilty of hypocrisy. Up until the age of 32 I attended church and lived a life opposite of what I had been taught. I claimed that I was a Christian but my actions proved otherwise.
Many times one tries to defend their faith without realizing that our job is not to defend our faith, we are to be witnesses of our faith.
My witness is that of a life transformed. Transformed by the grace and mercy of my Lord Jesus Christ.
You see I was once a man of very dark hats. I was a workaholic, a gambler, a binge drinker, and a man addicted to pornography. But today after nearly losing my marriage and losing my job of 14 years in the midst of a recession, I am standing tall with a blossoming marriage, a prospering bookkeeping business and a published book that is surpassing industry averages. To God be the Glory!
Every Christian is a witness. However it is one's choice to either be a good one or a bad one.
