Lk.22:31-32 “And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat, but I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to me, strengthen your brethren.”(NKJV).
Our Lord knows the end from the beginning.
Often like Simon Peter, we assume we are supermen.
We are almost sure we are above sinning.
But the reality soon dons on us that we are still men.
Like the conversation between God and Satan,
Concerning Job, God’s favorite in righteousness,
The Evil one asks for permission to shake the Spartan,
And he unleashes his arsenal with all seriousness.
Thank God He has prayed for us ahead.
Even though we fail and fall like a pack of cards,
He forgives and upholds us instead.
And He is still interceding at Father’s right hand.
So Let us hold on to God’s righteousness always.
Our own ‘holier than thou’ is inadequate.
We may assume we are above board in many ways,
Only God’s grace and mercy are appropriate.
Thank God Jesus prayed ahead,
It is good to know when I falter,
He does not prefer me dead.
By His prayer, I can encourage my brother.
