The Gift of Discernment

I have called my people to be able to discern between spiritual diamonds and clever counterfeits. Truth taken to extremes and reinvented by unregenerate men becomes error. Beautiful, sweetly scented religious error deceives many who can’t tell the difference. Pulpit ministers are preaching only HALF the truth these days. They’re showing only ONE side of the coin, only the so-called “positive” side of My nature, love, and their own interpretation of what My love really is. And even that one side they’re showing poorly. Instead of saving sinners, they’re SOOTHING sinners who need to be made so aware of their lost condition that they flee to Christ in order to escape the terrible wrath to come on unrepentant humanity.
There are many cracks in the pottery vessels of false doctrine religious wolves are shaping. When their work goes into the fiery furnace to be finished it will explode into pieces because of all the hot air pockets of error which weaken its structure. Error can’t take the heat of the day of testing, My people. So do not be deceived by clever men with smooth tongues, who are trying to establish “peace at any price”. The price could be the precious souls of sincere seekers who fall for a FALSE GOSPEL OF EASY BELIEVISM without sincere repentance toward God and faith in My Son Jesus (Acts 20:21).
There is a hell to be shunned, not just a heaven to gain. Preachers who compromise My truth “tone down” the uncomfortable Bible revelations about the harsher side of My nature, judgment and wrath. Money-hungry preachers do not want to offend their donors. If the sheep get fidgety in the pews and start leaving, where is THEIR kingdom they’ve spent so much time and treasure to build up FOR THEMSELVES?
In lots of congregations the rich pewsters carry more weight than the poorer pewsters. More often than not, rich “worshippers” worship only themselves and their own lusts, having itching ears which cannot tolerate My REAL truth. They don’t want My Spirit to convict them of sin or make them feel bad about the dirty condition of their deceitful hearts. They want the preacher to preach what sounds good to THEM, a soothing “positive” message about My infinite grace and love. Where in My Word does the word “infinite” ever appear in describing My attributes, except to say that My understanding is infinite? Never make false assumptions where Scripture is silent, or where it strongly indicates in many places that popular modern doctrines are erroneous.
The rich make it clear that they will reduce or withhold their “tithes” and offerings if the preacher develops a conscience and shows the WHOLE counsel of God (Acts 20:27), not just the pleasant parts the rich donors enjoy hearing about.
For filthy lucre’s sake many have kept silent about wickedness in the congregation when they ought to have spoken up about it. If today’s preachers were to denounce sin from the pulpit and take a strong stand against the wickedness of today’s generation, they would be deserted by those with “influence” and money, leaving only a few “fanatics” in their midst. What if Noah had been afraid to be different? What if Noah had zipped his lip about the evils of his own society and refused to build the Ark because he couldn’t hide the embarrassing, socially unacceptable thing in the privacy of his own back yard? He would have died with the rest of humanity!
People laughed as Noah obeyed Me and built the boat which saved the human race. But their laughter turned to cries of terror when the rain fell and destroyed them all. Far better to buck the trend and obey Me than to “blend in” and “don’t make waves” for fear of offending vile sinners whose opinion doesn’t carry much weight with Me anyway.
In the name of “love” the truth about the Terror of the Lord and His looming Judgment must be hushed up at all costs. Whenever it must be mentioned at all, it is given a makeover to minimize its harsh impact on guilty consciences. Some preachers only hint that your life may not be as happy and fulfilled if you don’t love Jesus. They themselves are scared witless to even ponder the possibility of an eternal future in the Lake of Fire described in Revelation 21:8. But just because you close your eyes to the truth doesn’t make it go away. You do the wicked no favor by failing (refusing) to tell them about the awful judgment in store for unrepentant men everywhere.
Christians brave enough to admit that hell and judgment just might possibly exist are often branded as unloving, cruel and unmerciful. They’re called self-righteous because they KNOW they’re right with Me and expect to escape the awful future judgment themselves. Where in My Word do I ever state that it’s a sin to have assurance of your own salvation, if I am the one who gives you that assurance? Just because you admit that some men do not enjoy that same blessing doesn’t make you a self-righteous hypocrite.
There are many, many scriptures in both testaments which warn repeatedly that I am not to be toyed with, for I am a holy God and a devouring Fire (Heb.12:29). Sin left un-repented of and uncovered by My blood brings wrath, not UNCONDITIONAL LOVE upon the transgressor. For the sake of sinners about to perish, never be afraid to proclaim the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
