Got back problems? Got heart problems? Got pain in your chest? Then have I got terrific news for you! God desires to heal you. Yes, He really does! So before you rush off to have that EKG, take these words to heart.

The first truth that will set you free is that your spine and heart go hand-in-hand. For if your spinal fluid isn't flowing right, then your blood won't circulate properly. Get your spine in line and your cardio chambers will breathe a sigh of relief. (Ezekiel 37:1-14)

What do I mean by that? What I mean is that your spine is like your will. It was designed to hold up the rib cage that protects the deepest part of you - your heart. When your will is properly lined up with God's, your heart will be secure. But when that column is out of balance, watch out! Your heart has just been left wide open to attack. (Psalm 84:11; Proverbs 2:7 & 28:18)

At the same time, the spine is nothing without the heart. For the heart was designed to pump life throughout your body, and that life is in the blood. From the heart flow numerous thoughts and strong desires, which tug on the will, influencing it for either good or evil. What affects the spine affects the heart, and vice versa. (Leviticus 17:11; Matthew 15:18-19; Romans 5:5)

So what can you do if your spine is out of line? What can you do if your heart is murmuring? What can you do if your rib cage is in pain?

The key to victory from a spiritual standpoint is knowing how to bend - to bow. This has everything to do with worship. Position yourself properly upon the Lord's operating table and He will align your spine. He will set your ribcage in order and subdue your heart murmur. (Exodus 15:24-26; Psalm 50:23; Micah 7:19; Romans 12:1)

This is internal medicine at its best and the remedy for a wide variety of problems, including:

heart attacks (a form of panic attack), brought to you by the devil's pitchfork. This is part of his "fear of death" arsenal sent to take you into captivity. Jesus destroyed this power when He rose from the dead. He took captivity captive and gave gifts to men, one of which is healing A life fully surrendered to Jesus Christ leaves no room for fear. He saves us from all our troubles. All fiery darts of fear are easily deflected by the shield of faith (Psalm 34:4 & 91; Joel 2:32; Romans 10:9 & 13; I Corinthians 12:9; Ephesians 4:8 & 6:16; Hebrews 2:14-15);

heart failure, a slow death version of the heart attack, which is also caused by fear. Fear is on the increase these days as the powers of the heavens are shaken. But those who put their trust in the Lord need fear no evil tidings. (Psalm 112:7; Luke 21:26);

pain in the back or front of your rib cage, caused by carrying loads (yokes) that are too heavy. The I-can-do-it-by-myself-without-your-help attitude behind many (but not all) such yokes is rooted in the filthy rags of pride and self-righteousness. To be cured, remove any such rags and take on the yoke of Christ. Cast ALL your cares upon Him and seek Him with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13; Matthew 11:30; II Corinthians 6:14; I Peter 5:7);

and finally,

stiff neck syndrome, which is nothing more than plain, unadulterated rebellion. The cure for stiff neck is to soften your heart before God, who opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. For humility brings flexibility, but stubborn pride and selfishness are a pain in the neck. And God doesn't want you to be a pain in the neck. He wants to heal you. From the inside out. Heart, spine, rib cage, you name it. They're all tied together, and His goal is to make them whole.(Exodus 32:9; Deuteronomy 10:16; Hebrews 3:7-8; James 4:6)

So before you rush to your chiropractor or cardiologist, take a few spoonfuls of this Biblically sound advice. And make sure to add a little humor (that joy unspeakable and full of glory), which will dissolve any lumps inside your throat and make the medicine go down a whole lot easier. (Proverbs 17:22; I Peter 1:8)
