Poetry
When I search myself a little deeper,
I find that I am my sister’s keeper.
I am responsible for how I act
As well as for other lives I impact.
A good example I must always set
And my selfish desires often forget.
A hindrance I would rather fail to be,
Causing someone to fall looking at me.
My decision of God’s word to obey
Has posted my life on public display.
The world is watching how steady I stand,
So I place my footing in the Lord’s hand.
My daily prayer is “Lord, don’t let me fail.”
Over me, prevent the devil’s prevail.
As I live, I must be able to see—
Somebody wants to pattern after me.
