You led him to the valley,
Ezekiel of old,
A valley filled with skeletons,
Through many bones he strolled.
God ordered him to prophesy,
Commanding bones to live,
The sound of rattling in the air
At life the Lord would give.
The bones were joined together,
Tendons and flesh appeared,
Obeying God, at his command,
The skin then reappeared.
What once was dry and dusty,
What long ago had died,
Would breathe again by God's command--
An army vast and wide.
"This is the house of Israel--
Those who have once known Me,
But dry and dusty they've become,
Their hope was gone, you see."
Just as God promised Israel
Again He'd bring them home,
His pow'r in us can resurrect
The faith we once had known.
He understands our frailties
Yet asks us still to trust,
Discouragement, confusion,
Can turn our hope to dust.
We'll never fully understand
The things God has allowed,
But we can know we're not alone,
His presence He has vowed.
With Him remains all power,
There's nothing that's too hard,
If He can raise dry, dusty bones,
We're safe in His regard.
Whatever then He asks of us,
He'll give the strength to do,
The breath of God will fill our lives
And will our faith renew.
All power, glory, goes to Him
Who reigns for all supreme,
Who breathes new life to dusty souls
And will our lives redeem.
Ezekiel 37:1-14
