Sometimes when we talk about desperation, it means something personal to us, or it is a word that we try not to talk about, it doesn't sound good when we shared with others how desperate we are toward something. Let us have a look at it in a positive way.
We can be desperate for more of God in our lives and it is a good thing for God to hear our hearts beating fast for Him, longing for more of Him. It has nothing wrong with it at all. We can be desperate for His healing, longing for His personal touch in our lives, that we can be made more holy in our walk with Him, bring more closeness in our walk with Him.
As I read Mark chapters, it did remind me of our desperation for God, especially for our healings. In our journey with God, we cannot avoid sadness, disappointment from the world, when we get to know God, it doesn't mean all our problems will be swept away, and we no longer need to worry about life issues. That's not true. Instead, we draw more nearer to God in our troubles and problems, we need more of God's help in our lives and in our times of trouble, we can find help in God.
See in chapter 1 alone, how the man with leprosy cried out to Jesus for help, how desperate for him to get cleansed from his leprosy, he begged Jesus for help and Jesus (moved with compassion) as a result of his begging, that Jesus reached out and touched him, and the man get totally cleansed from leprosy!! Let's read Mark 1:40-41.
When we are desperated for being healed and made whole, Jesus will come to us...He will be moved with compassion. If only we could come to God and ask for help, I reckon how many times we withhold our prayers for help, we try so hard by our own strength and until we are all drained, then we approached God for help, and how many times have we treated Him as our last resort....???
Are you desperated for His help in your life? Are you seeking earnestly for His help, for His deliverance?? Have you ever asked God for help, told him honestly what your problems actually are??
God is longing for our 'asking' and 'seeking', He is ready to help us in times of need. Approach God today for His help, He is the one who can indeed heal you.
