Sometimes I want to just run up to an Atheist and scream, "Where do you NOT see God?" It seems to me it is harder not to believe in God than to be a believer. How people believe comes in many forms and the moment of their revelation is different, but sooner or later the overwhelming presence has got to get to you.
Now I am not talking about the over 600 prophesies that were fulfilled, although that topic absolutely amazes me. How can you investigate the truth of history and not see that God had a plan and it played out over the centuries just as He planned it. No matter how man twisted the plot or fought God in every way, it all played into His grand plan to bring a race of created beings into an equal (heirs and joint heirs) relationship with His son and therefore Him.
I do not refer to the countless churches that dot the country enticing people to come and believe. I love church. I believe it is where God wants me to display my faithfulness to Him and to train and learn about His ways. But, I do not believe the overwhelming masses are attracted to or enticed by churches. Church becomes a way of life after you believe, not before. Also, there are a lot of people who never miss church that still don’t have a living relationship with Jesus Christ.
What I don’t understand is how you walk through life everyday and not see Him everywhere? I feel His presence when I wake in the morning, I hear Him when the kids giggle at night in the next bedroom. When the sun makes its spectacular debut in the east, that’s God. When I awake to rolling thunder and pouring rain, God sent that. How do people walk through this magnificent architecture and not see the architect? How does a woman recognize the designer of a handbag by name just by seeing his bag, by not see the designer of the hand in drapes on.
Even if you have never thought of God, stand under a west Texas night sky, look up and you will. When astronauts first went into space, all they talked about was the wonder of God. Thirty-three Chilean miners were just rescued from two months underground, 17 of the days in total darkness and they saw God. Even those that didn’t believe before found out God was real. They didn’t when the Lottery, get the car or girl of their dreams, snag that dream job, they were a mile underground with no food, no light, bad water, and they saw God.
Everyday, in everyway, I see that an omnipotent loving God has His hand on my life and helps me as I win, I lose, I tie and I cry. Just want to shout, “how do you not see God?”
