On the slave block of sin, my ugliness was exposed for all the world to see.
Satan’s control had given me a mockery for a life that was so full of misery.
Good was evil and evil, good;
My clouded mind could not determine what was right.
I swam in a sea of delusion and denial with all of my might.
Looking--ever looking for something--anything to bring delight.
There seemed no escape…Life was futile and there was no peace for my quest.
Then a face appeared in the crowd that was different from all the rest.
When others mocked with knowing sneers and laid their claim upon me,
He simply smiled, and said, “Follow me my child. The cost is paid and you are free.”
I followed that man that day and I walked with Him in the way,
As I learned what a Redeemer this Jesus had to be.
He paid it all that an unworthy soul might be ransomed and free.
