I write this poem in the name of my friend Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to the Glory of God the Father
Jesus said we would be persecuted for His name. It is written “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake”. MATTHEW 5:11
PERSECUTION OF A CHRISTIAN
Persecution of a Christian
Who would have thought this would be a day, in these United States
Land of the Free, Land of the Brave
Remember when this talk was all the rage
Persecution by one who is so near
That has caused many of God’s children to live in fear
OH! this has been such an insult
Who we thought to be Christians
Proved to be nothing but another cult
Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Husband or Wife
How one so close would seek your life
All for a few words in a horrid oath
Who will smile in your face, as well as cut your throat
Never knew SLANDER strange bed-fellow make
Whatever one makes it takes
Gone in a moment, everything one held so dear
All because of the lies whispered in the ear
Some things you’re better without
When you spoken truth, all they shouted was doubt
These are strong words indeed
Spoken in the land of the free
PERSECUTION OF A CHRISTIAN
Who thought they would see
Strong words as these
When JESUS spoke of liberty
Won’t drag this on and keep you chansons
You’ve just been exposed to the real face of the (free) masons
