From Ruler-ship to Servant-hood.

Ruler-ship is the mark of the monarch.
Leaders have the tendency to rule.
‘Kings of Kings’ declares He has come to serve.
He received honor riding on the mule.

Christ showed up to demonstrate a rare feat.
He came humbly to show the best way.
The Lord descends to wash the disciples’ feet,
Saying, “He who serves is the greatest”

From ruler-ship to servant-hood He moved.
By example we may serve our fellow brethren.
To devour, from place to place, the devil roved,
But moment by moment, Jesus seeks to save.

Rulers emerge expecting to be served.
Jesus succumbed to shameful death for our sake.
Being co-equal with God did not deter,
He was raised to serve the saints ever.

Leadership is service. (Matt. 20: 25-28)
