Eternity
Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. This is eternity. Seeing the past, the present, and the future all at the same time. It’s a different dimension. Paul prayed that we would be able to comprehend the breadth, length, depth, and height of this boundless dimension. He also prayed that we could know the love of Christ which passes knowledge (Ephesians 3:18, 19). God is beyond our understanding.
According to Romans1:20 the invisible things of him are clearly seen by the things that he created. Psalms 19:1-6 beautifully reveals the greatness of God. “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it; and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.”
In Genesis chapter one we read that God said, “Let there be light; and there was light. And God saw the light…” He saw the light that he created. This is the same light that you and I see every day. God did his work in that light and the evening and the morning were the first day. The first day ends at the same time that the second day begins. I Samuel 3:12 "...When I begin, I will also make an end." We are looking forward to the "day of God" (II Peter 3:12) when the day star will arise in our hearts. (II Peter 1:19)
Day after day God speaks to us of his never ending existence and faithfulness. Isaiah 57:15 “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”
Blessed be the Lord forever.
