Purity Vs. Lust

Purity Vs. Lust

The complexity of life is such
That the truth is hidden from our eyes
Deep within our soul
It can not be easily grasp
Or understood
It cannot be bought or calculated
Nor will it come looking for you

The Truth is an instrument of death
As well as life
It is the path that leads to eternity
Yet destructive if applied incorrectly, unnecessarily or
Indecisively
Many seek it, but do not find it
And satisfy with what they get

But there is just one truth
Known by He who created all truth
He is - the only Truth!

PURITY Vs. LUST

It is not for us to confuse or to abuse
These two words
It is for us to understand that they go beyond
What we have accepted as truth
It is for us to see
What they have in common with eternity
They will decide, where we shall abide
And yet - to say the least -
The battle continues - the battle that we lose
Because of the untamed beast within our beings

The night is far spent
The day is at hand
The clock is ticking
It is almost midnight

We must cast of all works of darkness
And put on the armour of light
The armour of truth - of the only truth

How can one rejoice in a sinful state?
Though God will forgive if we ask
But to ask hourly - is a burden the heart cannot take
But hard it is for sin to forsake
The mere pleasure of being satisfied
Of riding the waves of pure passion and ecstasy
For it is the love of a woman that a man would die for
Not the world

A woman in all her shape and curves
When her clothes are removed will cause a
man to forget God
Remember only after the lust has vanished
Though only for a while
For it will return again and again

But how complacent we have become
Because we believe that sin is sin
None bigger than none
Yet the consequences of some are
unbearable
While others are close to none
But we are taught to believe
In the equality of sin

We spread our legs because none is perfect
We touch the taboo to show the world we
are just like them
So they should come - and be like us
To serve a God who loves too much to
destroy
But God hates sin
That's the part we always forget to say
So sinners will come - but they won't stay
Because we forgot to mention the truth

But who am I to say or to do
Caught in a world where God waits
Till I'm through
For now I see through a glass, darkly
But then face to face
Now I know in part
But then shall I know even as I am known
But there is no time
Because it's almost midnight

A life of purity and holiness
Is the highest level of human potential
It cannot be achieved by our own might and strength
But by the power and Spirit of God
How we have taken matters into our own
hands
Saying that purity is measured by your ability
To accept change
That holiness is no longer about how you
look
Or the words that roll off your tongue
Or the thoughts that are entertained in the mind
But holiness, you say, is measured by your heart
The heart that only God sees, but not man
So man can no longer speak of or against
Your level of holiness

Holiness is measured, it seems, by
How often you attend church
And not by the way you slaughter
People behind their backs
Holiness is measured, it seems, by
How much you give to church
And not by how much you withhold from the poor

It is now alright for God's children to
Despise, reject and scorn those who do not have
Those who suffered the same thing Christ suffered
And yet - to say the least -
Are we aware, that it's almost midnight?

Can I testify to the fact that I'm heaven borne?
Though I no longer read God's word
Though I no longer spend time in prayer
Though I no longer fast
Though I no longer visit the widow and orphans
Though I no longer give a helping hand

Can I testify to the fact that I'm heaven borne?
Though I spend most of my free time
watching Television
Though I spend most of my free time on
the phone
Though I spend most of my free time d
oing everything else
Except spending time with my Maker
Or doing things that Christ would have
done with his time

Can I say I'm like Christ if I'm not?
Can I say I do like Christ if I don't?
Can I say I talk like Christ
If I sound like a devil
God forbids.
For though I say many things and want to believe them
The truth will confuse such vanity
For what you believe is not necessarily
the Truth

The now of what I see breaks my heart
For though God sets us free
From chains that had us bound
We now replace them with man made chains
Now we bind our ankles and our wrist and necks
With the beauty of this world
We colour the natural colours of ourselves
And pierce our bodies like animals
And mark ourselves so others see that we
are just like them
Imperfect in all our ways

Sinners should come,
But not because we are just like them
But because we are somebody they want to
be
Must we stop caring
For others to know we love
Must we always destroy to build?
Must I fight while others judge

The clock is ticking
The countdown has begun
Soon the judge will be seated
And the sentencing will begin
It is in that final hour
That all will be decided

And it won't be very long from now
Judging by the signs of the times
It is almost midnight.

Are you ready?
