Often disappointments in life come my way
Bringing discouragement, along with discontent
I find matters only get worse, causing me to worry, if
Leaning on my own resources, too much time is spent
An obstacle may be thrown directly in my path
Of enormous size it may threateningly appear
Feeling intimidated I am tempted to quickly retreat
And oft forgetting there is really nothing to fear
The Holy Spirit, dwelling in me, speaks softly
“Do not panic, my child, go to the Father in prayer”
Calmness and peace begin to envelop me
As I unload upon my dear Father my every care
Strength and assurance replace my weakness and fear
I whisper, “My Jesus, I love and adore You!”
I know my going to God in prayer was wise
For where could I go, dear Lord, but to You?
