Her Heart was in Sodom
Thomas Kittrell
May 16, 2006

I will destroy Sodom and Gomorrah
The warning came from God
The path of wickedness and sin
For too long these cities had trod

Lot received the instructions clear
Take your family and from here depart
The warning was not heeded by all, for
Lotís wife still had Sodom in her heart

Lot became wealthy through his greed
Now he was leaving it all behind
His wife lost her life that day, because
Sodom was still on her mind

What profit is there in worldly things
If in return we must lose our soul
Seek treasures in Heaven above
This should be our only goal

Do not be as Lotís wife that fateful day
And let earthly treasures seal your fate
There is not one earthly treasure
You can carry through Heavenís gate

If you do not heed Godís warnings
Then one day you will surely find
Your destruction will be certain
Because you had Sodom on your mind

Looking back is the very reason my healing took so long to come to fruition. I had no one to encourage me to look forward. And that is why it is important to have friends who knows where you are coming from as well as where you are going [Where God is taking you]. I kept looking back and almost met my destruction. I had a car accident and felt my spirit descending. I cried out 'Jesus, save me!' and when I regained consciousness I was by the roadside with a crowd of people over me asking if I'm dead. Well, that part I don't mind looking back on for it was many years after I had been baptised but it was this day I truly met Jesus and started a personal relationship with Him. So thank you for the reminder that God saved me for a purpose. I belong to Him and I live to worship Him. God bless you!

This is a sobering yet beautiful verse. We must desire to possess a pure heart toward God.here is so much in the U.S. alone that is like Sodom and so many have their heart and mind in the midst.Thank you Thomas for being such a blessing to everyone.

Very good! We all need to heed this warning. The older we get the more we see the folly of storing up treasures here below, where moth and worm corrupts...Blessings!...Helen

Very Beautiful with lots of meaning. We never should look back at the sin we left... cause that last look may be the one that seals our demise.
