I sought a mountain top to sit
I was given a valley to walk
So Jesus and I could
Have us a little talk
While walking through the valley
That to me was assigned to go
I learned that I needed humbling
Because my pride was growing so.
You’ve learned to lean on me
This is what I heard Jesus say
But you’ve gotten an attitude
That you’ve earned your way.
Everything you have is mine
I can take it all away from you
Without my helping hand
There is nothing you can do.
All glory and honor is mine
These words I heard Him speak
So if you will continue to prosper
Give credit to me and be meek.
I sought a mountain to sit
I was given a valley to learn
That all the blessings I have
I really did not earn.

Oh! This is so pretty! It hits home with me and many others.Thomas, it's verses like this that makes us take a look at our inner self. Thank you for posting this and praise Jesus for giving it to you.
So often we take credit for what God has achieved through us and so we need that reminder to do a self-check and see if we are indeed walking in His will. And that's the mountain top experience when it clicks--when you receive that which God intended for you to receive. And so He did answer the prayer of giving you that mountain top experience, though He chose the valley experience to bring you the answer. Bless you for the teaching.
This is very good. How very true that we all need those moments of humbling. Thank you for sharing!
Good lesson to remember
