Mysteries of Heaven
One day I came before the Lord as I so often do,
I had a million questions, but not a single clue.
He sat pure and majestic upon His crystal throne,
His hand motioned me forward as He said, “Come My child, My own.”
As I approached I watched His eyes and loving face aglow,
To my surprise He stooped to meet my gaze – me, a creature oh so low.
“What is it you want, dear one?” He asked in perfect love,
His strength was as the lion, yet He was gentle as a dove.
My voice caught in my throat and I felt that I might cry,
I didn’t want to show complaint, but I had to ask Him “why?”
“Why, Lord, do these things happen that I see no purpose in?
Is there some wrong that I have done? Some hidden secret sin?”
“Lord, I know You hear this all the time, it must sound so cliché,
But all these obstacles are popping up, they’re always in my way.
There are certain things I want to do, I think they are Your will,
Dreams I’ve had since childhood I carry with me still.”
“I think this is the path to take but now I almost doubt,
Can You tell me what’s going on, what this is all about?”
A tender smile filled His lips, His eyes a bright calm sea,
His gaze held mine unwavering as He simply said, “Trust Me.”
Confusion filled my finite brain; I tried to understand,
I couldn’t handle so much strain, so I merely took His hand.
“Many mysteries will fill your life, they are not yours to solve,
Just be patient, wait for Me, and the paths will soon evolve.”
“Some day you’ll look back at these things, the events that now transpire,
You’ll see My hand and reasoning in them – they are Yahweh inspired.
Your plans won’t always come about the way you think they should,
But hold My hand, trust in Me. My plans for you are good.”
His kind arms wrapped around me in the sweetest of embrace,
Enormous peace engulfed my soul as tears streaked down my face.
My mind ran through the words He’d said, the concept so enlightening,
The road ahead may be pitch black, but it doesn’t have to be frightening.
In starless nights, in paths of doubt, in mysteries I do not know,
He leads me through, guiding me along the way that I should go.
I don’t know all the answers to each and every “why,”
But I know the road ahead is worth it with my Savior at my side.
"Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus ... let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." ~ Hebrews 10:19 & 22

Not only are you a terrific writer in the fiction genre, you're extremely talented as a poet too. This well-written poem has a great message. Your cadence and rhyme are strong. I like how you took your time with this poem and carried the poem to a satisfying ending. It didn't feel rushed. Well done.
Yes, we all have questions but as you said we know we have Jesus at our side. He'll guide us through life.
