The love of God! Thats whats in a smile. Have you noticed smiles seem to be a rarity as time goes by? Life is hard and getting harder all the time. Stress levels are up. Unhappy marriages, rebellious teens, broken family relationships, unhealthy lifestyles, finances, bad work environments and etc. all are part of what makes smiles rare.
God can turn the frown upside down. There is nothing to big for God to handle or fix. The enemy is trying to steal our smiles away from us. If he can get us down and discouraged, he can continue to fill our minds with all kinds of nonsense. Then we are left broken and dishearten.
God gave us smiles. He gave them to us as a gift. A gift we can use to help others. Let me share with you some of the things that a smile can do for someone.
Brightens their day
Brings joys in to the room
Lightens the atmosphere
Shows kindness
Shows friendliness
Can take your mind off of troubles
Reminds you there are still things to smile about
Reminds us that the world is not all bad
Smiles are contagious and they spread
People wonder what you have to smile about. A smile can be more of a witness or testimony than you could ever imagine. When you are having a bad day or going through a fiery trial and you can still manage to bring out a smile, do you know what that says about you as a child of God? Let me now share with you some of the things that are in a smile.
The love of God, is in a smile
The joy of the Lord, (laughter) is in a smile
The peace that God gives, is in our smile
Comfort that we have from God, is in our smile, hoping that it will be contagious and can give others a reason to smile
Understanding that with God all is taken care, of is in our smile
Communicating feelings of encouragement and kindness to those in need, will also be in a smile
Happiness that comes from within (from having Jesus Christ living in you) is written all over our faces, in a smile
Confidence and trust in him that He can handle all our needs, is in our smiles
Our relationship with God alone, is enough to put a smile on our face.
All of these things should be what keeps a smile on our face. That is not even counting the blessings that He bestows on us daily. We can all find something good, even in the hard times to be thankful for.
God deserves our praise, our time, our bodies, and our smiles. He did enough on that cross alone to deserve a thankful smile from us everyday of our lives. If a smile can do all these things, why do we hold them back? Why are they rare? Lets give our community a revival of smiles. People will want to know why you are so happy. What a wonderful open door to tell them about the love of Jesus, since that is where it comes from.

Job 9:27
If I say, 'I will forget my complaint, I will change my expression, and smile,'
Job 29:23-25
They waited for me as for showers and drank in my words as the spring rain. When I smiled at them, they scarcely believed it; the light of my face was precious to them. I chose the way for them and sat as their chief; I dwelt as a king among his troops; I was like one who comforts mourners.
Proverbs 15:13
A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.
