1 Chronicles 28:9 teaches us to "Serve the Lord with a perfect heart and a willing mind." Always a willing vessel, we watch with our spiritual eyes for open doors of opportunities to minister. Sometimes, in our enthusiasm to serve the Lord, we take on too many projects which can eat away at our quality time spent in prayer and worship. Ministry must be covered with prayer - or we will fall back onto our own ability to complete the task. Without His guidance, the tasks we've taken on can become a struggle and a heavy load to bear. We may lose sight of the priviledge to serve the Lord by serving others and grow weary.
Realizing that we are using our own limited abilities and not the strength and guidance of the Lord, we should purposefully fall to our knees to seek the Lord for His mercy and strength. As we are spend one on one quality time with Him, He refreshes our soul and nudges us in the right direction.
It's amazing when a "regular person" is chosen to do a unique and special ministry. The Lord looks for a humble, willing servant who understands that God can use them DESPITE imperfections. A successful ministry serves to demonstrate HIS abilities.
