Ink of Life

Dark and damp in the night

the servant waits—

his prison tight…

no bed of rest

no comforts found

around him groans

no joyful sound.

But in the realm unseen,

the true light glows

from his battered hand

the ink of life flows…

words for the ages

to strengthen our souls—

“the sword may take my head,

but Christ is risen from the dead!

And one day, like Him, we will be,

when He returns in glory, for you, and for me.”
