Often, I think of the immense work Jesus Christ did just to bless us in every capacity. I marvel and wonder what on earth would ever qualify us to enjoy such great privilege, except of course the love of God! Since humanity was totally disqualified from the rest, salvation and blessings of God, only divine exchange would suffice!
As a result, Jesus Christ, the righteous, died a wretched sinner, rejected by God and men. Cursed and hung on the cross as a criminal, with criminals, because His entire righteousness he had given away – to us – in exchange for our unrighteousness, sin and iniquity. 2Cor.5; 21; 1Pet.2: 24; Gal.3; 13, 14; Isa.53: 1-6; Mk.15: 34.
Then again, Jesus Christ, who could never be sick, diseased or infirmed, died, beaten, bruised and battered! For the entire loss of His entire health He died, because He had given His entire divine health away – to us – in exchange for our sicknesses, diseases and infirmities! Isa.53: 1-6; 1Pet.2: 24.
Obviously, Jesus died in abject poverty. A pauper, totally bankrupt! No business or bank account, no home, wife or property. No friends, family or fans – all deserted Him! All He had to His name for the Roman soldiers to inherit and share were His clothes and a seamless robe! All because His entire wealth, that far exceeded Solomon’s, He already gave away – to us – in exchange for our poverty, penury and bankruptcy! (.To be poor after being rich is bankruptcy-2Cor.8: 9) – Matt.12; 42; Rev.5: 12; Matt.27: 35.
Needless to say, Christ redeemed us from the curse/oppression of bankruptcy, being made bankrupt for us. As it is written, cursed was Jesus Christ when He became bankrupt for us, that the gift of wealth, his entire wealth, which exceeds Solomon’s, might come to us as undeserved free gift and inheritance – being heirs to God! Gal.3: 13, 14; Gal.4: 7 – Paraphrased.
Understanding the extreme of Jesus’ socio-economic relegation and degradation will help us comprehend and possess the extreme of Jesus’ divine health, righteousness, great wealth, affluence and abundance, which He gave up just for us – This is the greatest exchange, our total redemption, Hallelujah!
God swore an oath and made an unbreakable, irrevocable covenant of divine exchange with the saints; that whatever Jesus Christ suffered deliberately, shed His blood and died for, comes under our control, beneath our feet and subdued totally – like sin, sicknesses, curses and bankruptcy. Lk.11: 20-22; Mk.16: 17.
Adam suffered the first bankruptcy – to our detriment and demotion. But Jesus Christ, the last Adam suffered the last bankruptcy for our redemption and promotion! 2Cor.8: 9. Glory to God!
Have a blessed day in God’s awesome presence.
