Sometimes. . .I like to place myself in someone else's shoes. Ya know, try to think, what they might be thinking. That is how this poem came to me.
"Lord . . . Do You See Me ?"
Lord, do you see me here, crying . . .
If you do, you know my heart is bleeding
No sense in telling stories, or lying
It's you, and your mercy, that I am needing
Oh. . .I have tried fixing things, on my own
And you know, nothing ever turns out right
Actually, if anything, my troubles have grown
A remedy to my heartache, is not in sight
Lord, do you see me here, praying . . .
Sometimes, speaking the whole night through
Do you hear every word that I am saying
Will you please . . .Tell me what to do
It's said, you'll never leave, nor forsake me
And that you'll stick, closer than a brother
I know you gave your life, so I could be free
And you love me, the same as another
But why. . .Lord, do I seem to suffer so
Why is my story, always a sad one
We were all created equal, this I know
Yet, at nothing. . . Have I ever won
I read your Bible, following your holy word
In all, I try to live a clean Christian life
It isn't like I am blind, or haven't heard
Yet, life's lessons, have cut like a knife
So, now dear Lord, I have become bitter
I scowl and frown, at each new sunrise
And, never before. . .Was I a quitter
You must see defeat ,in these sad eyes
But. . .According to your holy word, Lord
I will try to move foreward, trusting in you
As these words from my heart, I've poured
I pray you give me strenth, and see me through
And when that time arrives, and I know
I will lift my hands high, giving praise
While spreading your word, to and fro
In greatfullness, till the end of my days
I'll thank and praise you, for seeing me Lord,
And, I'll thank you for hearing me too. . .
Making sure my treasures, are stored In Heaven
Where I'll be sharing Eternity. . .With you !
