We have two ears with which to hear
But are we really listening? Do we hear what is said?
Sometimes it goes in one ear and comes out the other ear
Its meaning never entering into our head.
Spouses tune each other’s words out
Mindlessly responding, “Uh-huh”
At other times, they stick out their lip and pout.
What did I do? You should know. “Duh”
Husbands and wives don’t always hear
The meaning behind what the other speaks.
Sometimes the silence is hard to bear,
Other times they talk up streaks.
Dad lovingly gives good advice to his son.
The facts of life Mom tries to teach.
The child cries, “Were you never young.”
The generation gap makes everything a stretch.
Because we do not listen to what is said.
Or we fail to comprehend it meaning
Anger makes hearts break and bleed red
And what we speak is often demeaning.
We have two ears with which to hear
But are we really listening, do we hear what said?
Sometimes it goes in one and comes out the other ear

The seniors on fixed incomes call out help with ever-rising bills.
We are still useful, don’t leave us to died and ration our care.
The jobless exclaim, “We want to work, we still have skills.
Create new jobs and business, so we can pull our share.”
The child that no one hears, or encourages turns to drugs.
Pain and loneliness is too much, so another falls in the bottle.
Prayer is removed from schools and our streets are filled with thugs.
The court and hearts don’t care, so we move on full throttle.
The exploited child cries out for rescue.
The abused wife runs in fear from her husband.
Does no one hear or is the world all askew?
When will sanity reign again across this land?
The people said, “Enough, no more tax or spending.”
Politicians fail to listen and push full steam ahead.
They know best, so the bills they press forward are unending.
The voters said, “We will be heard. Enough, you are out instead.”

God said, “Of this fruit of good and evil, do not eat.”
Eve and Adam did not listen to the truth.
They could not beat sins hold and found death and defeat.
Satan’s lies took away their youth.
Israel did not listen to God’s words and wandered for forty years.
They failed to take His advice and were taken off as slaves.
Their lack of hearing cost them many deaths and tears.
Man’s choice to fail pay attention has filled many graves.
The preacher said, “God loves you. Turn from your sin,
For if you don’t one day there will be Hell to pay.”
We say he is speaking to another and leave just as we had been.
It cost too much, maybe we will listen another day.
All nature declares that there is a God.
Yet some still fail to believe He rules.
Men and nation have fallen under His rod
Because they did not listen and acted like fools.
We have two ears with which to hear
But are we really listening, do we hear what is said?
Sometimes it goes in one and comes out the other ear
Its meaning never entering into our head.
Wisdom calls to us maybe it is time we hear
And listen to a heart of love and forgiveness.
The words that wisdom speaks are so dear
We should all hear each other and be bless.
Let our heart be blessed with hearing.
Souls are dying to be heard.
Listening is a form of loving.
And understanding is always preferred.
I have two ears with which to hear
Carefully I am listening, to hear what is said.
It will goes in one and not come out the other ear
Without its meaning entering into my head.
