As I look back on my life, the times GOD spoke to me were many. He placed me in the perfect spot, with the perfect people, for me to live a life that He chose for me. Making decisions in the flesh I merely ignored, or called these events coincidence.
After losing a close friend to a drug overdose I entered into a time of being drug free, and wanted to make a difference in not only myself but in my community. The idea was to take a group of kids from a local drug rehab program, and a group of kids from a church, along with their youth pastor, and put them together in a scuba class where their lives depended on each other. The results were GODLY; three of the rehab kids went on to stay clean, find GOD, and even got jobs with CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE teaching scuba aboard ships.
As for me, life was soon spinning out of control again, missing not only my message, but GODS message. Though a seed had been planted by the youth pastor, it would lay dormant for many years.
I thought it was me who changed those three kids lives, and for many years patted myself on the back taking all the credit and glory, while giving none to GOD. I am thankful the kids recognized Who saved them. Heck ... even on my best day I couldn't save myself.
