Nonstop room noise
Overpowers my mind
Taking the place of
Introspection.
Nowhere quiet
To
Hear the
Eternal
Words of life and love,
Instead there is a steady flow of
Nagging narrative
Demanding to be heard.
Each day, each moment,
A fresh batch of
Rambunctious racket attacks my
Thoughts, taking my time, my very life
Hostage.
Quickly the minutes, days, and years disappear
Uncensored,
All muddled together like a
Kaleidoscope of
Escaped energy.
Oh, for
Reprieve
From the
Incessant
Repetitive rumblings which
Effectively
Blot out life and
Undermine all peace and
Tranquility,
Assaulting my sanity and
Generally overpowering
Everything important by its tyranny.
Nevertheless, this noise will cease for
The time has come. I determine to
Listen
Earnestly and
Wait till all this
Hellish hullabaloo
Is finally
Silenced.
Peace reigns at the end of each storm, earthquake and fire.
Eventually quiet
Replaces the cacophony of chaos.
Out
From the silence I
Lean toward heaven, hoping to hear the beat
Of God's
Very heart toward me.
Echoes from Heaven, gently caress, whispers of love sweetly kiss. I hear His love.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW

I really enjoyed this poem. It flows as if a poetic ballet of words. Congratulations on being chosen for the showcase. I look forward to reading more of your works. Shalom
Terry, I love this poem, and I plan to feature it on the Front Page showcase for the week of September 27. Look for it on the FaithWriters home page--and congratulations!
