Sunday 8/22/10 Pastor Alex sermon: Touching the Father’s Heart Acts 13:22, Psalm 42:1-2
Men: God didn’t make men and women the same. God has a way he wants men to act and then there is the way the world wants men to act.
The world says men should be : Jokers, Jock, Strong silent type, Buffoon, Super Hero etc
@@@ Becoming a man after God’s Heart.:
Are we becoming a man after God’s heart or are we doing our own thing? Are we being an image of God or of the world?
1) We have to determine to be found by God as a man who is after God’s heart: We have to purpose this idea into our hearts because we just can’t stumble into it. We have to ask how does God see us? Acts 13:22 Will we fulfill God’s will?
2) Man sets the tone of the house: If a man is angry, upset then the tone of the home will reflect this. We have to ask…..Do we have the right atmosphere in our home for Jesus to ring the doorbell and come inside? Do we? Abraham set the tone of his home by prayer, fasting, believing and trusting God. Isaac trusted his father’s walk with God so much that he followed him to the mountain to be sacrificed.
Noah’s family had confidence in his ability to hear from God. So they chopped down trees, made wood and built an ark for 100 years until it was finally done. When it finally began to rain, they got into the boat. They had built a boat in the middle of the desert without there ever being any rain. They did this because their father Noah had set the tone in his house of being a man after God’s own heart.
@@@ Setting the Tone in a Man’s House
You must be a worshipper of God and Jesus Christ. Read the Word, pray and have a relationship with God our father. Acknowledge God in our everyday thinking and this is a motivation to please God.
Invite God into our circumstances to take us through stuff, to guide us and to empower us to do right. We must invite God into our lives and ask Him to move in our circumstances. Invite and engage God into all our issues. We must pursue God. We must pursue Jesus
Amen
