Donít be so easily influenced
My child, if sinners try to lead you into sin don't follow them-Proverbs 1:10 NCV
"Everything that looks good isn't good for you!" This is one of my mother's infamous quotes. She often used it in an attempt to keep my brother and myself out of harms way. In fact I heard this so much as I was growing up that I sometimes even recited it to friends of mine.
Not only do our parents have a strong desire to keep us out of harms way but our Father, who art in heaven also shares this desire. His desire to keep His children from plunging into unnecessary danger zones actually outweighs that of our parents. In Proverbs 14:12 AB the Bible says there is a way which seems right to man (notice it didn't merely say right but it said RIGHT TO MAN) and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is of death. What this means is just because Billy Bob said that it's the right thing to do doesn't mean that God wants us to be engulfed or even involved in it. Proverbs 14:12 was later co-signed with Galatians 1:9 NASB (by going on to remind us not to stray from that of which God has already pinpointed out as being right & wrong). So again I say don't be so easily influenced!
Everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial and everything is permissible but not everything is constructive-1 Corinthians 10:23 NIV
