Long!
So long
Have struggled I
Oh curse my darkened soul
Stained!
So stained
By conscious lie
And never to be whole
Heart!
My heart
This dying flame
Come close night's cold chill
Hold!
Embrace
'Tis all the same
With spirit fallen ill
Look!
Behold
A star slow falls
An angel now cast down
See!
Now watch
As dark enthralls
This angel 'pon the ground
Blame!
My fault
So exiled me
Me, they once called saint
Shame!
My sin
Which caused to be
Mine, that brought such taint
Weep!
Lament
For my own fate
My life has been so cruel
Guilt!
Regret
For what I've done
For I have been a fool
Death!
Murder
By edge of tongue
My tool of choice, my speech
Stabbed!
Betrayed
By traitor me
As one once called to preach
Verse!
Poem
This treasured boon
This talent God did give
Waste!
Squandered
I cast to wind
In selfish ways I live
Shun!
I fear
What became I
This monster in the dark
Plea!
I beg
Lend to me aid
To shed this beastly mark
Hear!
Pay heed
Steer thee away
From paths that I have trod
Quake!
Tremble
Unworthy me
For mercy gave by God
Cry!
Ashamed
That He should see
My every sin and trace
Washed!
Forgave
He beckons me
To look upon His face
