Empyt Nester?
Someone is always in your nest. Adult children, grandchildren, neighbors, friends, or younger believers.
Don't downplay your infuence. Words have power, so give credence to small matters and momentary meetings. Many times it is the chance encounter where we exchange heartfelt words that touch the lives of those around us.
God can and will use anything we offer to Him. Glances, smiles, a nod of acknowledgement or acceptance can all help someone turn a difficult corner.
Don't allow negative thoughts to convince you that your value has diminished with your age. With God there is no "old age."
Let's not believe the lie that because we are not still raising our children and not longet active in the work force that we are no longer useful to God in this world. Actually, we are now worth more. Or better said, your true worth is now made more clear.
You have the time now and the wisdom to hear God with great clarity and sensitivity. You can tend to the smallest of details of God's plan now. You can work at your own pace, setting times of prayer and intercession. You are able to be still and listen to the voice of the Spirit. No more praying on the run. You have time to sit at His feet, worshipping the lover of your soul in spirit and in truth.
So don't believe the lies about old age and empty nests. There is a great future awaiting all seniors.
