In this day of political bashing and controversy, the presidential election will soon be upon us. This entails either re-electing the incumbent president, or electing a new person to the office of the presidency.
I really doubt if people realize what a crucial decision this should be. I say “should be” because, as far as I can see, most people do not look at the person running for office. They merely vote for the party he represents. That candidate who is running for office stands for something. He also has a background. What is his background? What he represents is fairly obvious from the beginning, but what he has done with his live is certainly of the utmost importance.
This is, without a doubt, one of the most important elections we have ever faced or will ever face. Our country was founded on Christian principles. As Christians, we need to turn to the Lord in prayer, and ask Him to help each one of us select the most suitable candidate for the office of the President of the United States of America.
Our president should be a man who places God first and foremost in his life. He must be a man of high integrity, a man of honor. A man who places his country first, not himself or his accomplishments.
The United States is at war, a different kind of war. In this war the enemy is not stationed in one specific area. The enemy conceals himself in all parts of the world. This is a very dangerous time for Americans, and we need to be on alert at all times.
Sin runs rampant in our country. At the top of the list is child abuse, drugs, murder, abortion, just to name a few. People refuse to turn to God, they don't even believe that He exists in many cases.. The devil then steps in at a time such as this, and takes over. He is very deceitful and cunning. People's lives, as well as countries, are very often destroyed by him.
In 2 Chronicles 7:14,God says: " If my people, who are called by my name, will turn and humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
November, 2004, we will elect a president. It is imperative that God's will be done in this election. Please turn to Him in prayer. As Christians, it is our duty, not only to cast a prayerful vote, but to encourage other people to vote who would normally refrain from their obligation. As Christians, we can make a difference. Let's do it! Then, may God truly Bless America. . .

Our nation has NOT turned to God, but has repeatedly supported that which took us AWAY. Those who would lead consistently serve 'self' and 'party' rather than what, under God, is best for our troubled, struggling nation. Your article is a great reminder. Thanks.
Hi Linda - wonderful sentiment and couldn't agree with you more. We ALL need to vote in the coming election - pray for God's choice to be elected. I do believe that God had His hand in the last election as well.
