This poem is based on the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 18 verses 41-46
The barren land was so thirsty and dry
The stifling still air couldn't even sigh
Then a small hand-sized cloud did appear
Could it be true that a rainstorm was near
"I hear the sound of an abundance of rain"
He spoke as he arose from where he had lain
The prophet sprinted as ran before the king
He knew what the black clouds would bring
Sure enough the heavens opened wide
And the rain came down as a roaring tide
The prayer for rain was answered at last
The long drought was a thing of the past
