Lord, I long to see Your path before me
Light my way so that I can rise from this pit
Of bitterness and hardship that encompassed me
And from the ashes of affliction, I am compelled to sit.
Lord, I long to see Your heart
For I can no long sing and dance for joy.
Draw near to me, and let not your presences from me depart.
Release from me the chains that bind and destroy.
Lord, I long to see Your way
I do not ask the why, but only the direction
For in this place of sorrow, I do not want to stay.
Cause my life to become Your reflection.
Lord, I long to see the wisdom of Your plan
For I know nothing happens without a reason
And my steps were numbered before I began
Place your loving hands in mine in this dry season.
Lord, I long to see Your answers to my cry.
Your eyes have seen the rivers made by my tears.
Your abilities have not diminished as time has gone by
And you can release me from all my worries and fears.
Lord, I long to see Your marvelous grace.
For I can carry this sorrow and grief no more.
I need your strength in order this day to face
For I am loosing this dangerous war.
Lord, I long to see Your mercy again
Anoint me with Your holy oil
Take for me this loneliness and pain.
From my presences to not recoil.
Lord, I long to see Your goodness
For from the ashes you bring beauty
Giving us joy in our time of loneliness.
And strength to do our duty.
Lord, I long to see Your provision
For you know better than we do our need.
Give me faith to see your vision
So Satan’s lies cannot mislead.
Lord, I long to see victory in my life
Here below, as well as heaven above.
I thank you that you call me your wife
And send your spirit to me as a dove.
Lord, I long to see things as they are
Not as the world appears to be
For our rewards are not afar
To those that have bend to your knee.
Lord, I long to see the truth
That hidden in your word.
Words that restore my youth
And causes my heart to be stirred.
Lord, I long to see Your face
And not just want you can do for me
Your friendship is so sweet to the taste
Your love from death has set me free.
Lord, I long to see Your glory
Falling down to cover me
For You are pure and Holy.
And I am less that I should be.
Lord, I long to see
Please take the scales from my eyes
Show me what is meant to be
If I am to win the prizes.

This really touched me. If I read it on a different day, I think it may have connected with my heart differently. But today, I was in pain and my heart is hurting; I feel useless. So today God showed me I'm not alone by having me read your poem at this exact minute. That's truly talent, to be able to write something that could mean different things on different days. It allows the Holy Spirit to work through you.
