Dealing with Guilt
Are you feeling the guilt of yesterday's mistakes?
Guilt can make you feel like you have gone too far. 1st John 1:9 reminds us that nothing is impossible: nothing is too big or too hard; you haven't gone too far where God cannot forgive... If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This scripture is telling us that there is hope. We do not have to keep the shackles on, Jesus broke them when He went to the cross.
Are you wondering what to do next?
Give Him your all! Your heart belongs to Him. He made you for His purpose. He created you for His pleasure. Make a start to worship Him today. It was for this purpose we were created; that is when we are happiest. We were created to worship Him; we have that desire in us to worship.
Sometimes we focus on material things or other human beings we call idols/ role-models. We worship them because we have a need to worship. However, our worship belongs to God. That is what He created us for. All the praise that we give to people, all the honour we bestow on movie stars who we call role models or pop/superstars, they belong to God. Even the name brands that we wear, sometimes gets our worship. But these brands, although in season for a little while, they eventually get replaced by a newer version or a different brand. The people we praise move on to different areas, careers or they die. We then move on to the next available source: the most publicised person or thing to fill that gap, the need to worship.
Why waste your time and energy praising/ worshipping what will not last? As believers in Christ, we know that God never changes. His promises are true He is the same today as He was yesterday and will be tomorrow. So give Him the praise! No one else deserves it.
Just touch Him today and be restored.
Name that sin and ask God to cleanse you from it. We sometimes lie to ourselves about the state of our hearts before God. Some people spread gossip, telling lies about other people; habitual lying: You say it is just for fun, just having a laugh. God says it's detestable, an abomination. Your lying is affecting the lives of other individuals. Your lying affects the growth of a newborn believer. If you are made aware of someone's sin and have used it as an opportunity to gossip, the time has come for you to seek repentance.
Lying to yourself will not make it right. Not being caught in the act will not correct your actions. The gossip stream that you so happen to have been drawn into at work, at church, at school or in your social circle (accidentally or otherwise) you can get out of it. Just ask God's forgiveness and experience a change in your behaviour. Let Him wash you clean and give you a brand new start. Don't wait any longer, just reach out and touch Him.
You may have given up your virginity and felt trapped in a circle of fornication but then you made the decision to renew your vows with God. Satan is not happy because you have escaped from his camp so you are haunted by past mistakes.
You may have stolen something yesterday, ten years ago, maybe last year, and it just keeps coming back to haunt you, even though you laid it at the foot of the cross.
You may have committed adultery years ago, you and your partner dealt with it. He/she has forgiven you. Satan is using guilt to make you a slave to your past mistake, although you have gone to your partner and God with a repentant heart. My friend, God wants you to accept the gift of forgiveness.
God is ready and waiting with open arms, just like the prodigal father in St. Luke 15. Run into His arms. He is ready to wipe the slate clean. You cannot be in His house, holding up your hands and praising when you have such burdens weighing you down--SHACKLES.
The shackles have been broken. God has forgiven you of your sins. You have touched Him and He has wiped the slate clean. But satan doesn't want you to move into the fullness of life. What does he do? He plants the seed of doubt in your heart, causing you to not accept the forgiveness God has given you. Refusing to accept God's gift of forgiveness is wrong. It is a sin. So you are once more tied and tangled up in the web of inequity; right where Satan wants you to be. But I brought you good news today:
The slate has been wiped clean. He who the Son sets free is free indeed (St. John 8:36). Allow God to embrace you with His forgiving arms. Refuse to be a slave to your past mistakes. Say to guilt, "No more! Enough is enough!" (Use the weapons given to you to rebuke and to loose according to Matt 18:18) Recognise the robe of righteousness which God has placed upon us. It allows us to come boldly to the Throne of God, knowing there is no condemnation. We did not earn it, neither did we deserve it, God gave it to us as a gift so we can stay connected to Him. The robe of righteousness gives us boldness to walk in our calling. It is time to move into your calling and be a blessing in the lives of others.
If you find yourself struggling in anyway remember this:
Yesterday may have been a beautiful day,
But it is gone, gone away.
Yesterday may have been your darkest day,
But it is gone, you have lived to see another day.
Today is a gift, just like it was yesterday,
What is the difference between the two?
Yesterday is gone, never to return.
Today is here, another opportunity to give God praise.
To remember it this way may help you to focus on the present day. The gift of a new day and use it for the honour and the glory of our Creator. Touching Jesus should be our daily aim, desire and testimony, as believers.
Walking in Prosperity
Seek Your Forgiveness and Start Over. Receive that renewal/restoration, promised to you:
A new life
A Fulfilled Life
An Abundant Life
The life promised to you, based on St. John 10:10. It is yours. Claim it! Do not let the sins of yesterday hold you captive; holding you back from your full potential today.
Forgiveness is available to you. He will take your guilt away and replace it with a new start. He has a plan for you and He wants you to submit to Him, totally, so that He can restore you then open your eyes to see what He has in store for you. Oh, what a blessing if only you would reach out and touch Him!
Touching Jesus should be our daily aim, desire and testimony, as believers.
God bless you on your journey.

Been there-done that!! Forgiving ourself is what is hard.
The burden of guilt we lay on ourselves coupled by that the enemy of our souls relentlessly lays on us appears at first to be something we cannot escape, but you so wisely remind us that all we need do is in worship and praise reach out to our Savior and give it all up to Him and He will gladly replace our burden with His that is so light! Your words come so sincerely from your heart so keep learning and sharing; there isn't one of us who doesn't need to hear God's Word of Truth. Blessings, Jody
There is a lot to take in here in this article. I know it will speak to many hearts. we all have issues that we find difficult to forget, or maybe people we have a problem forgiving. Or maybe it is just daily pressures that get to us, but whatever it is, we just have to do as your article points out: Just Touch Him...Thanks for sharing...Helen
