Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith-Hebrews 12:2 NIV
My pastor posed the question of who should be the object of our faith last week during Bible Study. The answer came in various forms such as---the King of all, God, Jesus & etc. All of which were very good answers.
The Bible tells us that the world and everything in it is of God (Acts 17:24 NIV). Since God produced and formed the world it shouldn't be any strange notion that our faith is produced and form by Him as well. According to Hebrews 11:1 KJV faith is the substance of things hoped for & the evidence of things not seen. Well doesn’t that describe God in a nutshell?
If God is the object of our faith, then our faith SHOULD always be larger than imaginable. Notice I said should. Being that God knows that our faith will grow weak and weary from time to time, He was so kind to pardon our drifting faith by saying if we have faith the size of a mustard seed (which is the smallest of seeds) we can move mountains (Luke 17:6 NIV) then overcome anything. Wow how great is He!
