My being single is no cause for shame.
So what if I still bear my maiden name.
Somebody loves me, I'm informed to know.
The Bible plainly declares it is so.
God loves me with an everlasting love.
The kind that can only come from above.
Unto Him, I surrender my whole life
And hope to become a virtuous wife.
I repent for my past indiscretions.
I no longer indulge in transgression.
I have chosen a new way of living,
Since I met a God who is forgiving.
I flee fornication—run away fast.
I know it's a fling unable to last.
I avoid heeding seducing spirits.
A voice other than God—I won't hear it.
I shun weariness of well-doing.
A heavenly reward, I am viewing.
In due season, I shall reap a return
If I faint not before my prize is earned.
