Whom Would You like to Meet, Living or Dead, and Why
Whom would you like to meet, living or dead, why, and what are the questions you would like to ask him or her? This is a difficult question. There are so many people that I would like to meet and question. This person that I should select must be one who had great knowledge and understanding; however, he was human just like the rest of us. I select the world leader, Jesus Christ. You may be asking yourself why him. Well, he entered this sinful world as a man, and he died a leader who changed the world. He made a difference in the lives of many.
I wish to ask him many questions about his human side. He was all man; yet, he was all god. First, what was it like to be the son of a holy and blessed mother and father? There are so many children born into the world today to parents who physically abuse them, abuse drugs, and abuse alcohol. They are children of divorce and separation. There is little peace in their homes, and their homes are battlegrounds. Second, why would you give up your future in the family business in carpentry to travel around from city to city preaching, teaching, and healing the people? You experienced rejection, pain, and physical abuse by the very ones you tried to help. I believe that I would not wish to continue this road. Traveling the roads day after day is tiresome and very uncomfortable. I would rather be at home, safe from harm and danger. There are times when you were cold, tired, and hungry. Braving the elements must have been unbelievable. I would have been fearful of the townspeople. I wouldn't want to find myself in front of an angry and disagreeable mob. Third, why would you lay down your life for others? People are ungrateful. No matter what you do for them; it is never enough. They want you to do more and more. They are never satisfied. They wish to use you constantly until you put your foot down and shout, "Enough!"
The other day I was thinking about many of the entertainers of today and of yesterday. Many were used and abused by their directors, agents, photographers, sponsors, the public, and the media. People required of them more than they were able to deliver. Once you can not deliver, you are easily cast away and criticized unjustly by others, especially by today's media. People do not understand the great burden you face as a public figure. There is never any privacy, and this can be a challenge to the faint of heart.
Jesus, you were accused of blasphemy and accused of being a threat to the Roman Empire in declaring yourself the son of the the living god. You spoke not a word, but allowed the people to place nails in your hands and feet. You did not call upon your heavenly father or the angels to help you when you endured torture and felt excruciating pain. Your blood was needed to be poured out to serve as a sacrifice for the sins of the world. You gave up your life for the people. You were the lamb used as a righteous sacrifice. You were wise; you had the knowledge that came as a revelation from God. You could have rejected this highway, but you did what you felt you had to do for others. You are the protector of the people, because you cared for others unselfishly, even if it meant your life.
There is no other man that I would love to meet other than the man, the prophet, the teacher, the healer, the bishop, the priest, the rabbi, the teacher, the saviour, called Jesus Christ. He gave himself for others. Surely, there is no greater love, than the love of one who would lay down his life for his brother. Jesus has changed my life.
