“My Daddy’s Lap”
Blessings to you Dear Friend,
“My Daddy’s Lap”
What you about to read, I would say “don’t try this at home” but than again of course you should try it and I am sure some of us have done it already before. When my kids were smaller I have done it with them many times…putting them on my lap and let them steer my car. You may say, what an irresponsible person am I, but I wish to assure you that the streets were empty that time and no harm was caused, even to my car. Well, just the other day my boy came with the same request again and he climbed over to my seat to sit on my lap and he wanted to drive. Shandor is a lot bigger now days and of course heavier but I could not say no to him. His legs are still a bit short so the pedals remained in my control (Thank The Lord for that!) but the steering was all his. There were things on the street which I did not really taken notice before, the likes of a lamp post or a couple of nice matured trees which for whatever reason often ended up at the front of my car. But we managed to pass all obstacles and we remained laughing and smiling.
“My Daddy’s Lap”
What really amazed me during this fun time it was the trust of my boy. Sitting on his daddy’s lap, laughing and steering… Calling upon me every now and again, saying, “Daddy push the breaks!” but with complete trust and without any worries. It was good fun. And than again I had another thought about this…Isn’t that is the same with us as well? Sitting on our “Daddy’s Lap” and doing or try to doing the steering? While He still Have the control over the pedals? Have you been spending some time on your Daddy’s Lap lately? He still letting you to do all the steering but your legs are forever short to control the pedals as well? But also you are not worried at all as to where are you steering because you are seated on your Father’s Lap and you know that He Will never leave you nor forsake you. (Hebrews 13;5)
The Best Seat in the house you can trust is “My Daddy’s Lap”. Kindly and humbly be seated. Enjoy the ride.
God Bless,
George.
