When temptations come along in life
Here’s what you ought to do;
Flee fast away with all your might
To God’s word you will be true.
For if you try to stand your ground,
You’ll lose and fall to sin.
Temptation is where evil’s found,
It seeks out your soul to win.
Drawn to our darkest hidden parts
It enters our heart’s door.
Casting dark spells and poisoned darts
As it slithers ‘cross the floor.
But fear not if you call His name,
Your King will save the day.
The truth of God’s word still remains;
In his love He’ll make a way.
Then safely exit you may go
Thru the way made out for you.
Temptation just a beaten foe,
Its hunger for now subdued.
Yet do not rest as if you’ve won,
This battle never ends.
But through God’s mercy and His grace,
You will conquer it again.
