Shake It Off

Did you get offended?
You must shake off what they said;
Anger won't help you.
Your anointing will lift instead.

The devil tries to frustrate you.
He wants to steal your joy;
He works through people
To steal, kill, and destroy.

He's aware of things you don't like.
He knows your weaknesses too;
But when the serpent comes around,
Shake it off of you.

That person you’re mad at…
What did they say?
Or was it something they did
That made you feel this way?

May I ask you something?
Were you offended by this before?
Is this a common offense
You wished wouldn't happen anymore?

I wonder why the devil
Keeps aggravating you;
I wonder why he keeps
Using the same old tactics too.

The devil knows you well.
He knows what buttons to push first;
He's learned what can hurt you.
He's seen you at your worst.

Don't let him lift your anointing.
Don't let him steal your joy;
Shake off offense the next time
The serpent comes to annoy.

Forgiveness is the key to restoration...contentment...remaining in His love. And as we continue in His love we will find that His joy remains in us and our joy is full [St. John 15:11] I really like the way this flowed. Thanks for sharing.

Good advice. We have to forgive others and not let Satan have a foothold in our lives.
