The Faith Test

3 TESTS PEOPLE OF DESTINY MUST PASS (THE FAITH TEST)
Faith. It is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It is our handle on what we can’t see. It is the foundation of our salvation, our new life in Christ, Romans 10:9-10. It is our oxygen. Hebrews 10:38 affirms this when it declares “The just shall live by faith.” It is the tool with which we overcome the wiles of the enemy, 1John 5:4 says “…And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith.” All these point to the fact that faith is indispensable in our lives as Christians. Our lifestyle should be that of faith.
When we live by faith rather than sight, we choose to believe before seeing. Faith places its trust in God’s Promises before they become tangible. Its’ confidence in God is not dependent on what it can see, touch or feel. It believes if God said it, it’s as good as done. It’s only a matter of time before it becomes tangible. When we choose to see before believing we walk by sight, not by faith. Walking by sight says “Lord, I won’t praise you until I get the job”. In other words it demands that God performs before it believes. Walking by sight is synonymous to putting the Lord to the test.
This was the temptation our Saviour faced at the pinnacle of a temple where Satan told Him to prove His Son ship by jump off the roof, assuring Him of God’s flawless security system, Matthew 4:5-7. Satan was invariably saying “Let’s see if your Heavenly Father will protect you from danger.” Jesus didn’t need a physical evidence of God’s Protection to trust His Heavenly Father. God’s Word was enough. Putting the Lord to the test stood in the way of the Israelites and their destiny-the promised land, when they gave in to complaining, Numbers 14:1-23.
Since your destiny is a dream from God, it is a dream you can only achieve with His help. Harnessing that help requires living by faith not by sight.
