Be true to yourself, forget the world outside
Be true to yourself, by putting aside all pride
Awake O Sleeper, may the consciousness abide
In truth amidst the heart has long been denied. (Romans 1:18-20)
Not knowing Jesus doesn’t mean, “I’m exempt!”
The consciousness will hold many in contempt
Of willful disobedience, God is in us from birth,
Not just one or two but every person on this earth (Romans 2:12-15)
Be true to yourself, look close at who you follow
Satan lies in wait for souls hell wants to swallow
Awake O Sleeper, stop pretending you don’t hear,
Life is too short and its end is drawing near. (Ephesians 5:10-14)
Selfish ambition is one of many forms of greed
Read James 3:16 to find out what it will breed
Take a closer look now honestly are you free
And ask yourself at some point has this been me
Being true to yourself is hard but it can lift
You from the darkness to light it can shift
Now Awake O Sleeper, step out into the light
Where Jesus is waiting to give you true flight.
