Nearly four years ago when our third son Nathan was a new born baby, he suffered from strong convulsions of epilepsy. Tracing the history of our family, my grandmother had it first after falling down and getting wounded on her head while she was pregnant with my father. Afterwards when my dad was born, again fits attacked him during the first month of his birth. He was treated well and got healed and so it never visited him again. Next when I was born, the fits manifested in the first week. And after the treatments I also got healed within three weeks.
One curse operating in four generations.
After thirty three years I got married to Junie. And later when our first child Johnnie was born, fits returned, after treatments it disappeared after a month without coming back. And then next, our second son Danny was born and the same sad story repeated, this time it was stronger than before and he also was treated well and got healed. Now this is the fourth generation suffering from the convulsions of epilepsy in my family. And later when Junie gave birth to our third child Nathan, fits got violent; he had it every now and then in the first week of his life. I was fifth year in the ministry and I was growing strong and mature in faith by learning new spiritual insights from the Lord. Nevertheless we all were heartbroken about something occurring to our family like a generational curse. But Lord said, I became a curse for you on the cross to deliver you, so My grace is sufficient for for you, be still and know that I am your God!!!
Spiritual warfare and a Miracle from God who delivered our Child!!!
Our new born Nathan was under medication and good care. But after the first fits attack appeared, in next twenty four hours it repeated twenty three times and gave us a nightmare. My family was in deep distress and pain; we thought we are almost losing our sweet baby. But Lord helped us fight this battle, by showing me the exact time of the fits attack, so that I rebuked the sickness in Jesus name. Doctors nearly gave up and never spoke hope. Now we saw God more in the role of a great Teacher and Comforter more than a Healer or a Deliverer. However we submitted to His Lordship and we prayed and waited patiently by trusting in His faithfulness. I knew we should stand firmly focussed on Christ than focussed on epilepsy. What we go through may not be the perfect setting for learning new scriptural insights, but if we don’t see God at all times, we will fail to listen the voice of the Spirit who liberates us. John says, “But as for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you; then you have no need that anyone should instruct you. But just as His anointing teaches you concerning everything and is true and is no falsehood, so you must abide in Him being rooted in Him, knit to Him, just as His anointing has taught you to do".
God was empowering us to victoriously face the music of fits through this test of faith. By His grace we learned how to trust and rest in the peace that surpasses all understanding. So we had the last laugh at the devil who laughed at us first. The anointing will break the yoke of slavery. Nevertheless in our test, if we are not available for God and teachable in His presence, we will never learn how to use the keys of God’s Kingdom to open the locks of demonic yokes.
Overcoming a dark episode by proclaiming the message of the cross!!!
To overcome this dark episode we needed inseparable union with Christ our King, simply there was no other way. And we kept exercising faith in what Christ has accomplished for us by proclaiming and sending the miraculous Message of the cross to Nathan. Day and night by faith we declared, “Nathan, you are healed by the stripes of Jesus”. And finally in the twenty fourth hour epilepsy was defeated, it failed to appear in Nathan. Then two or three times it came after fifty hours. Then it vanished without coming back. Later we checked with the neurologist and found no traces of fits in our children. We thank our God who sends His word to heal us with its inherent power which gets activated through our faith in the sacrifice of Christ. We should always whole heartedly submit to God and resist the devil, then we will see him flee. Finally we witnessed God’s miracle and thanked Christ who broke our curses.
Big questions in the test of faith?
The scientific and intellectual think tanks constantly raise questions from their heads for discovering answers for celebrating life on earth. In our test of faith, our head and heart may ask big questions which God alone can answer. But first hear the Lord’s knock on your heart’s door and honestly answer His question, “Do you love Me more than these?”. Those who seek God with their heart for answers need to first acknowledge and declare one magnificent truth. Jesus Christ the Son of God is the Lord of Heaven and Earth at all times. He is the most immaculate reason to celebrate life. In His presence there is fullness of inexplicable and glorious joy. He is the King of Glory; the Mighty Lion of Judah, the Ultimate answer from God for every man to be saved and healed. He alone is worthy to receive all the glory and honour and praise. His Kingdom eternally celebrates righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. All authority in Heaven and Earth is given to Him. He said "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord, Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death”. The Father of Glory gave authority to His sons and daughters who believed in Christ to be seated in the Heavenly places at the right hand side of His Son of Glory. If our soul and spirit is seated with Christ, we have God's answers deposited in us. We will soon witness God crushing Satan under our feet.
Test of faith proves what kind of spirit you have?
But the human soul and spirit which does not acknowledge, confess and honor the Lordship of Jesus Christ is not born of God. This rebellious and non-confessing spirit is the spirit of the Antichrist. So in the test of faith we should not discontentedly complain as some of them did and were put out of the way entirely by the destroyer -1Cori 10:10. Under the dominion of the Spirit of God the victorious Saints declare, “It was in Christ that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him and in and for Him. And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together)” –Colo 1:16-17.
Upgrading the degree of our intimacy through total obedience of faith.
In the test of faith we should renew our minds by knowing the deeper things of God’s heart and refresh our understanding to develop complete obedience of faith. If we sanctify our thought life to conceive the mind of Christ, we will celebrate our life with Him. But in trouble if we don’t seek the face of God and comprehend His purpose, we subject to the spirit of fear and we grieve the Spirit of God. Joyfully sharing in the sufferings of Christ anoints us with the power of His resurrection that makes us extra-ordinary conquerors. Test of faith exposes the garbage hidden inside us and Holy Spirit will lead us to sanctification by God's word. We should expand our mindscape to conceive the life of Christ who builds us blameless by His grace. Test of faith is an opportunity to see Christ face to face and upgrade the degree of our intimacy with Him.
Fear is a Godless child born in a loveless heart!
Unfortunately people drown in the sea of unbelief like perplexed Peter who lost focus on his Master. Fear is a Godless child born in a loveless heart. Those who are filled with God’s love at heart remain secure in Christ, because they constantly hear the Lord telling them “Fear not, I am with you”. So John said, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love”. God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline -2 Tim1:7. So the test of faith is a process designed to meaningfully discipline us. Here if we grow from strength to strength and become fully mature, we can become perfect in the love of Christ.
Disappearing into to God’s glory and celebrating our life with Christ!
Without questioning, grumbling and complaining, in all circumstances of life the Lovely Bride of Christ sings her sweet song with deep conviction, ”This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it”. Regardless of the circumstances we live, if our hearts are intensely engaged in the love of Christ our faces will reflect the everlasting joy of the Lord instead of distress. Because Paul said, “Triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. And endurance develops maturity of character. And character of this sort produces the habit of joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation”– Rom 5:3-5. The test of faith is a time to part with the earthly hopes and bond with heavenly thoughts. It makes us embrace Christ and kiss Him with a kiss of worship and remain united with Him. it’s our chance to abide in His glory and celebrate our life with Him on earth and all eternity.
But are we ready? Hope you will say Amen! Yes Christ is the Hope of Glory Amen!!! -www.vjtraven.com
