“For your servant fulfill your promise made to those who fear you.” [Psalm 119.38 NASB]
David knew, even if he never coined the phrase, that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. He also knew and we would do well to remember this, that “Friendship with the Lord is reserved for those who fear him. With them He shares the secrets of his covenant.” [Psalm 25.14 NLT]
This might have been the promise, which David was referring to in this verse. Are you standing in need today for God to fulfil His promised word to you? Do you also have a sincere and godly reverence for Him?
Why, at this time, did David need the fulfilment of this promise? The taunts of men were creating fear and destabilising his spiritual metabolism.
Have you like David taken a stand for God and now the words of men and demons are reverberating in your ears?
It is now that you need the assurance that God is true and faithful. You have done your part and you are now waiting for Him to fulfil His part. As so many saints have previously testified this is a good and blessed place to be. [David McArdle]
I really enjoyed this piece. I'm exactly where you described being. God helped me to take a stand and now I'm at a place with a blank canvas, waiting for what He wants my life to look like next. Your words reminded me that His promise is sure and true. Thank you.
