A pigeon, oppressed by excessive thirst, saw a goblet of water painted on a signboard. Not supposing it to be only a picture, she flew towards it with a loud whir and unwittingly dashed against the signboard, jarring herself terribly. Having broken her wings by the blow, she fell to the ground, and was caught by one of the bystanders.
How often we believers also in our zeal and enthusiasm overhear the voice of the Lord God Almighty. As we get saved by God's grace, often most of the new born believers take it for granted that Lord wants them to preach, prophesy or get associated in church ministry. How often we pursue our plans and purposes, how often we pray not my will but thy will be done God, but we keep on pursuing our will. We easily self presume our ministry and begin to run the race of faith that has been set before us by our power, knowledge and wisdom but soon we get exhausted and begin to loose our faith and joy of salvation because of the unfruitfulness of our self presumed ministry. Today many churches are unproductive and dead because not only the congregation members are misguided in their spiritual life but also sadly many pastors and preachers are out their ministering church without knowing God's purpose and calling that He has placed upon their lives.
Beloved right through the Bible we have examples laid before us that the ministry of men of God succeeded because they had personal relationship with God on daily basis and they were ready to hear the voice of their Master and Lord. Secondly, God also clearly revealed unto them His plan, purpose and will which He had placed in His calling upon their lives and when the men of God faithfully, obediently accepted God’s calling in their lives, God used His servants mightily for His glory. A newborn bird’s sibling does not immediately begin to fly unless and until it gains proper strength and guidance from its parents so also is the case with our new birth journey in Christ Jesus. We as new born again believers should first seek the Kingdom and Righteousness of God; we should allow God to lead us into His paths through His Spirit and His Word which helps us to know His will, plans and purposes for our lives. Only if we allow God to work in our lives and strive to have daily fellowship with Him through Praise, Worship, Thanksgiving, Prayer and meditating upon His Word then shall only be able to hear His voice which says this is the way walk in it- For He has promised unto us, “For I know what I have planned for you,’ ‘I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope. When you call out to me and come to me in prayer, I will hear your prayers. When you seek me in prayer and worship, you will find me available to you. If you seek me with all your heart and soul, I will make myself available to you and will show you great and mighty things that you know not.”
Unless and until we totally accept the Lordship of our Saviour Jesus Christ we might not become useful instruments in the hands of the Lord Almighty because the life now we live its not our own but we have been purchased by our Master and Saviour Lord Jesus Christ with His own precious blood.
Beloved are you one of them who have become tired and unfruitful in Christian ministry? Then you have to stop pursuing your self presumed calling and ministry for if you shall fail to heed the voice of the Lord God Almighty then like the pigeon above you shall also be deceived because of your unquenched spiritual thirst and be caught in the hands of the adversary of your soul- Satan.
Take heed friends for Lord Jesus Christ has said, “Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers! (Matthew 7)
May God bless us with the Grace of His knowledge and understanding that our zeal to minister in His Kingdom will be in accordance with His plans, purposes and calling that He has placed upon our lives for it is He who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God – a mature person, attaining to the measure of Christ’s full stature.
Remembers friends do not your zeal destroy your joy of Salvation.
L.S.P.M gives all the honor and praise to our Father in Heaven who has helped us to write this article through the help of the Holy Spirit for the glory of His Son our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
