Faith Rewarded

My husband was called into the ministry. Then we were called to move.

Move like Abram was called: "The Lord had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people, and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.'" (Gen. 12:1, NIV)
Well, we didn't leave the country, but we left the county. We packed up all our belongings and moved. We moved away from our family and everyone who was helping us. We set out on our own – with God. We finally listened to God's calling because we finally trusted God.

Prior to that point we had not listened to God. We didn’t trust Him. We made poor choices, all because we didn’t seek God’s will since we did not trust Him. We ended up with a multitude of financial problems. We would do good for a while, that is paying our bills on time, etc., but then something would happen, like a loss of a job, or a health problem. We would end up behind on all our bills and struggling to make ends meet. We even had to get help from other sources, like family, friends, or the state.
This was humiliating to us. It took many years to learn that we needed to believe in him, that is, have faith in him, and listen to what He wanted us to do. After finally seeking God and beginning to trust Him, my husband was called into the ministry. Then we were moved – by God.
Since then, God began to restore us by making us into a great nation (family) and blessing us (See Gen 12:2). He gave us our son (we already had two daughters) and gave my husband the best paying job he has ever had! We knew that when we were able to have a son that God was restoring us. The great job was just further confirmation.
We also realized that the first move was only the stopping or resting point. We had not entered “the land I will show you”. About a year after the first move, we packed up and moved again. Since this move, we now have the opportunity to purchase the new property.
We believe that this is the land where God wants us. He is fulfilling the promise he had made to us. The same promise he had made to Abram. Abram believed and so had we. Our faith is being rewarded.
