Adam and Eve lived a life filled with joy,
In the presence and love of the Lord.
They dwelt in his garden, the masters of Earth,
And God’s blessings upon them were poured.
Then one day the Serpent called upon Eve,
And said she could eat of the tree.
Knowledge and wisdom were there to be had,
Even like God she could be.
Then Adam came over and joined in the chat,
Eve told him the tree’s fruit was good.
So he ate it as well on the Serpents advice,
In defiance to God they now stood.
As they ate up the fruit, their nakedness showed,
And for cover they ran to the leaves.
To hide from the presence of God in shame,
In rebellion of sin they did grieve.
So God put them out and cursed them to work,
And the Serpent he cursed as most low.
Now a Cherubim guards Eden’s gate,
With a sword that is flaming aglow.
So Adam and Eve lived apart from their God,
The full burden of sin they bore.
Working to live under hardship and pain,
Until back with God once more.
