There on high, a dove sails by;
Look higher still, beyond the sky;
God’s love is seeking, you and I;
Let’s heave hearts upward, our time is nigh.
Yet, we may fail to do so, still busy within;
How wise is that, to indulge our sin;
Do we think life's games, are for us to win;
But we lose ourselves, in gain's greedy grin.
God is calling us, inviting all to belong;
For life's too short, to stay too long, where we went wrong.
Before our hour has past, and the dove has come and gone;
Let's eschew the maddening siren, of any other song.
