A stranger in the land

What must I be to you I see a
traveler gone so long. A stranger
to this naked world,forever now
be gone. What do you see in him
I ask, a pilgrim gone before. Must
I ask the One who knows of love
unending foes. To see the way he
looks at you many years ago. Never
to recall the one who loved you so.
God remembers the long ago when life
was simpler then. He took notice of
your love, yet you have never been.
What must I be to you I see. A traveler
gone so long, what has kept you from
His love. A pilgrim gone to long.
