BLOODY HANDS
Ezekiel 3:17-19

The title of my message today is called “bloody Hands”. Bible text is from Ezekiel 3:17-19. Before we read the passage their are series of questions that has to be answered.
1. Who is a murderer?
2. Who was the first murderer on earth?
3. Who was killed?

The first murderer that took place centuries ago was written in the book of Genesis 4:8-11
As we read this bible passage, I want us to point out those things that caused Cain to kill his brother.

Let us all look at Genesis 4:5. Anger drove Cain to commit murder. Abel’s anger came with envy and jealousy and the ending result was death.
If you haven’t realized one of the greatest reasons why churches do not function well is a result of envy and jealousy going on in the church.

Children of God hating one another because of the things others have. I shall not dwell on this tonight because our topic says “bloody Hands”.

Please realize this, envy, jealousy and anger can result to death. No man or woman should encourage them to exist. Envy can destroy a family, a marriage, a work place, society and even the church of God.

In 2 Samuel 11 their was a certain man who had blood on his hands, a devoted man of God who was the king of Israel. The bible says that one day while he was alone he saw a woman bathing. The beauty of this woman and her nakedness caused him to lust and to also covet. The bible recollects that this woman became pregnant. David was ashamed of his sin, so in order to keep it a secret he killed the husband of that woman. The name of this king was David. Imagine the drastic steps people are willing to take to cover up ac secret.

Let us take a closer look at this story in 2Samuel chapter 11, notice how lust covetousness and adultery played a role in bringing about murder. Cain killed due to envy and jealousy. David committed murder due to lust, coveteousness and adultery.

Is there a difference between envy and conveteousness? According to Rbc.org, convetousness focuses on things or possessions while envy focuses on other people that we feel one better or better off than we are.
I know that a lot of you sitting down here tonight are so happy that you are not murderers. Perhaps you have never killed a fly before. Those who commit murder are labeled as criminals.

Is amazing to realize that so many of us are beating our chest with pride by saying “I’m not a criminal “ and i have no criminal record, but the truth is this, there are so many murderers in the household of God. It’s this kind of people that I call “Bloody Hands”.

In Ezekiel 3:17-19 the bible reveals that those who refuse to correct, discipline or exhort will be held accountable.
Their are so many souls out there who will be lost in hell because you and I have failed to preach the gospel.

Come let me show you the silent killers, who do not murder with guns or knives but silence. This are the types of people who do not consider the souls of mankind.
May the lord help us in Jesus name.
